Galeria Vermelho presents in October: Rafael Assef and Eliana Bordin.
Rafael Assef shows recent works, where a comment on fashion and human behavior is made through images of bodies and its fragments. Assef cuts open the skin once again, now following the lines inherent in clothes, in reference of what goes on the skin instead of what goes beneath it, as in his other series. Body hair becomes blue, green and red. Photographs of intimate and internal spaces complete the exhibition, featuring curtains, lustres and light. Rafael Assef has participated in many national and international shows, among them: Pirelli/MASP Collection at the Art Museum of São Paulo, Rumos Visuais Itaú and SAMPA at Stedelijk Museum Het Domein, Netherlands.
Eliana Bordin works with photograms and x-rays to register flowers, flasks, pearls and many other objects. The internal structure of these bodies becomes visible through both techniques, sometimes black & white, sometimes in color. Bordin keeps the structure of the films she uses also visible in her work, revealing to the public the photographic process. This exhibition brings works done since 1998, as a first gathering of pieces from the time she was in FAAP College up to recent works.
