Vermelho presents, from June 6 to 14, the exhibition SX70, a collective featuring works by Armando Prado, Cláudio Elizabetsky, Fernando Costa Neto, Marcelo Palotta, Paulo Vainer, Ricardo Van Steen, and Roberto Wagner.
SX70 is a model of Polaroid camera from the 70s, considered by many photographers as the best model of its kind.
Armando Prado, Cláudio Elizabetsky, Fernando Costa Neto, Marcelo Palotta, Paulo Vainer, Ricardo Van Steen, and Roberto Wagner came together three years ago to create a website: www.sx70.com.br, featuring images produced with this camera. With the website ready, the idea of editing these images into a book emerged.
The exhibition accompanies the book launch and provides a glimpse into the production of these seven photographers, highlighting how each of them approaches the SX70. The result is a diversity of themes and visualities, concepts, and aesthetics. The selection ranges from journalistic images to formal photography studies, from traditional Polaroids to Polaroid photograms.
